Not a lot is known about Agent Barton, except he first appeared in the THOR movie last year. We know he is an agent of S.H.I.EL.D. and has history with fellow field operative code named the Black Widow.
Unlike his comic character, we have yet to learn if he is also an ex criminal and industrial spy..... or does he have other secrets hidden along with his trick arrows in his quiver ! In the comics he is known as a former lover of Natasha ..... in the film they appear very close, BUT HOW CLOSE ?
Is there more to Agent Barton ? , only time will tell.
