IT'S A DAWGS LIFE: Yesterdays Heroes Once More Part Sixty Seven The Doctor's Surprise ...

After hearing the message over the intercom the Doctor rushed to the Wardrobe Area of the Tardis..

Opening the door he found Jan and Jace waiting for him. They looked worried. Especially Jan as her usual Happy Smiling Face was far from looking as it normally did.

"Well" said the Doctor "How did you get on ?" he added

"You can come in now" said Jace.

In through one of the other doors stepped a short man with Ginger Hair.

At first he looked a little bit unsure, but the positive reaction he saw on every ones faces told him that he looked good.

The Doctor smiled " Penry my boy you look excellent. Phooey was smiling also and giving himself the Thumbs Up !

Jan then told the Doctor about the look she had helped put together with Phooey, and how she had managed to hid his fur with a spray. This spray had changed not just the colour of Phooey's Orange fur but had it now appear as natural skin. She said she had some trouble with Phooey's Paws, but some fake nails seemed to have done the trick. Now he could walk around in San Francisco without any one staring at him

Then Jace invited Jack to join them too. In walked a Blond man in shorts and a very colourful shirt,

"I went for the Surfer Dude look " said Jan. "Jack chose the shirt" she added

Jack looked the part. He was a little unsure of the Flip Flop Sandals he was wearing, but the Doctor thought that they looked fine.

Behind Jack's back he was hiding something. He reached behind him and brought out a Blue Umbrella.

Jace explained that Jack would not feel right if he was not allowed to take his Katana with him, and knew that a man carrying a Japanese Sword around the Streets of the City would bring him to the attention of the Law. So simply Jace had disguised it with an image inducer that now man it appear as a simple every day umbrella. On the handle of the umberella The Doctor could see a Yellow Diamond, that looked very much like the design on the hilt of Jack's Katanna.

"Nice Touch" he said pointing at it.

"It is not just a Nice Touch" laughed Jace who nodded to Jack. Jack rubbed the Yellow Diamond and....

The Sword appeared.

The Doctor was very impressed, he assumed it must have been based on some of The Space Ghost's technology.

"You have all done very well !" Grinned the Doctor rubbing his hands together.

Then the Doctor noticed that Reggie, aka Dyno - Mutt was nowhere to be seen.

Jace explained that Reggie was in one of the changing rooms, and had refused to come out until the Doctor had arrived.

Why was he in the changing rooms pondered the Doctor, Reggie did not need a disguise ?

"You better come in now Reggie !" said Jan.

Then in walked a strange looking spectacle man with a mustache. He was wearing hat, overcoat, and scarf.

"Reggie I do not think I can let you leave the Tardis dressed like that" said the Doctor shaking his head.

"Why ?" said Reggie

"Because you look like a dog in a hat and coat" said Jan

The Doctor explained that like where he lived in Big City, normal Dogs here in San Francisco do not talk and do not wear clothes.

Reggie looked sad as he turned around and returned to the changing room. When he returned a few minutes later it was without any clothing. The Doctor smiled and then game him a special dog collar that the put around Reggie's neck.

"You look perfect" The Doctor said.

Then the Doctor invited every one back to the meeting room where they could show off their "New" looks to the others.

After every one had commented on their new looks, the Doctor asked them all to take their seats. Radley patted his best friend, and told Reggie how wonderful he looked in his new Red Collar.

Then the Doctor explained to every one what would happen next.

His team of Phooey, Jack, Reggie and himself would try to locate The Impossibles and then recruit them. Being mindful that a dangerous gun man was in the same vicinity.

That would leave Space Ghost in charge of the Back Up Team, of himself, The Blue Falcon and the Wonder Twins. He told them that if they would be needed he would call them via a small radio transmitter he had placed in Reggie's collar. If they needed to leave the Tardis, they would all need to dress in civilian attire. Again he asked Jace & Jen to help find suitable clothing if need be.

Then he and the other members of team bid the others farewell as they headed back to the Console Room. Space Ghost & The Blue Falcon followed as they would be using the equipment in the Console Room to help with locating Johnny Ringo and the Impossibles.

The Tardis had indeed landed, and whilst the Doctor checked that they were at the right time and place, the others made their good byes. Yes the date was September 3rd , and it was a few minutes after 12 O'Clock Noon. Hopefully this would give them enough time to find the Impossibles and deal with Johnny Ringo as well.

As the Doctor asked Phooey to activate the switch to open the outer doors, a flashing light on the central console attracted his attention. He knew what this meant, but had decided for now to keep what this meant to himself for the time being.
