YESTERDAYS HEROES ONCE MORE Part Thirty Four A Date with a Deadly Widow

 As the Crew of the Phantom Cruiser and the Doctor's team were deep in conversation, no one knew that a number of space craft were heading in their location. 

Inside the Tardis a light on the console had began to flicker and the View screen had now re-tuned itself to show the space craft approaching. 

The Space Ghost had agreed to join the Doctor and become part of his team, however he also agreed that taking Jace and Jan with them would not be safe. The Doctor knew that the Twins were very capable at defending themselves, but taking children into a Theatre of War was not a sensible thing.

Both Phooey and Jack stood silent as the Twins received the sad news.

Space Ghost said that he would set the  ships autopilot to take the Phantom Cruiser back to base, and the twins would stay their until he return. The Twins were disappointed not to take part in this mission, but knew that Space Ghost and the Doctor were right about the danger.  Plus someone had to look after Blip.

Then the Doctor inquired what did the Tardis hit when the originally arrived in  this location,,,, and what was Space Ghost shooting at ?

The Space Ghost opened his mouth and said " One of The Black Widow's Artificial Bomb Comets "

" Still having trouble with that Awful Woman, Thaddeus   ?"  The Doctor replied

But before Space Ghost could answer........ A Blast from one of the Space Craft hit the side of the Phantom Cruiser. 

Then another and another blast was felt.

" Hull Breach !" shouted the Space Ghost as air started to leak out the of a hole  that had been made by the blasts. 

" Every one inside the Tardis " commanded the Doctor.

The Space Ghost pulled a few levers and punched some buttons, to try gain everyone more time. He sealed off the the front section that had developed the leak.

The two crews raced through the door of the Tardis as more and more  shots rained down on the Phantom Cruiser.  The Space Ghost was the last inside, and before the door closed he looked at his beloved Space Ship as yet another comet blasted through the hull.

Quickly shutting the internal doors the Doctor activated the time rota and the Tardis took off. 

Onboard her Spider Shaped Flag Ship the Black Widow laughed.... " Good Bye Space Ghost "

And as she was about to order her minions to fire again, she heard a voice emanating out of  one of the Ships speakers.

At last she had killed her nemesis ..... or had she ?

"Hello, Widow" Said the Voice... It was the Doctor. He had tapped into her communication network.

"Sorry to upset your plan, but I have someone who wants to speak with you !" The Doctor continued.

The smile drained from her face.

" Dear Black Widow, don't you know that you cannot kill a Ghost ? especially this One !"  it was Space Ghost of course.

The Widow let out a scream that sounded like a cross between a howling wolf and an eagle in pain.

" I would suggest you stop firing and think about running away before I initiate the Phantom Cruiser to self destruct. And the Blast will more than likely destroy you and your Spider Bombers also " Space Ghost added 

The Widow barked orders to her minions and the fleet of Spider Bomber Ships headed away at top speed.

Then Jace spoke " The Cruiser does not have a Self Destruct system ?"

" I know that, But the Black Widow doesn't " Laughed the Space Ghost

On the Tardis view screen everyone could see that the Phantom Cruiser was in a sad state. Jan was close to tears, and Blip was jumping up and down very upset too. 

 No way could the Twins return to it at the moment. On his belt Space Ghost activated a button. This both made the ruined vehicle fade from sight and also instruct the onboard computer to activate the self repair systems.

The Phantom Cruiser was now undetectable, and hopefully by the time her returned she would be as good as new.

"Well" Said the Doctor, "It looks like Jan, Jace and Blip will be coming along on this adventure after all " he continued.

Space Ghost nodded his approval, and Blip jumped up and down making every one laugh.

Yesterdays Heroes once more Part Thirty Three MONKEY BUSINESS

 Waiting onboard the Phantom Cruiser, Space Ghost and Crew watched as the Tardis Door opened.

Blip and moved closer to Space Ghost and appeared to be nervous

Space Ghost looked at Blip and gave him a reassuring smile.

Then from inside they got their first view of The Doctor

The Doctor waved as he exited his Tardis

"Hello Thaddeus" said the Doctor

Both of the Twins started to giggle. Only The Doctor ever called Space Ghost by his real name.

"Hello Doctor, its nice to see you again "  replied Space Ghost

By this time Blip was edging closer to The Doctor 

 

Blip then jumped up onto the Doctors Head and started to ruffle his hair.

"Get Down" Shouted Space Ghost

But Blip just kept on getting more and more excited and had started to Squeak loudly with joy

Space Ghost covered his eyes, due to the embarrassment  of Blips actions.

From inside the Tardis, Jack and Phooey heard shouting and strange Squeaking noise.

"Quick " Shouted Jack " The Doctor must have been attacked "  he continued 

They ran towards the open door, and looking out saw that The Doctor, had a Monkey on his head and was laughing as was two of the younger members of the crew. As for the man dressed in White me looked a little bit embarrassed. 

"Its alright " Said The Doctor..... "Blip is pleased to see me" he added

Phooey and Jack exited the Tardis, and where introduced to Space Ghost, Jace, Jan and Blip

" Is Jamie with you ? " asked Jan, who had a secret crush on the Young Scott

" Ah! said the Doctor.... "that is precisely why I am here !" he added.

The Doctor then explained that Jamie had been kidnapped by the Grand Master, who had challenged The Doctor to put together a team of "Players" to take on a Team that the Grand Master had also assembled that had not been reveled as of yet, but the Doctor knew they would be made up of very evil people.

As Doctor continued to chat with Space Ghost and his Crew Phooey and Jack had neglected to keep a careful watch on the Tardis Viewer Screen. If they had they would have seen a number of Space craft coming towards their location.

YESTERDAYS HEROES ONCE MORE... Part Thirty Two Welcome Aboard The Phantom Cruiser

 On Board the Phantom Cruiser the Space Ghost had assembled his Crew to meet The Doctor.

Along with The Space Ghost were ....

The Crew also had another  Fourth member,  a Monkey Called Blip. He was more than just a pet. He also aided the team  battle the Villains and Evil doers.  Although at times he could be a little bit more of an annoyance to all.

As the Crew of the Phantom Cruiser awaited the arrival of the Doctor, Jace whispered to his sister "Which one would it be ?"

"I hope its not the Grumpy Old Man " he continued

"Oh I hope its the Funny One with the baggy trousers" replied Jan  

" Ok, settle down" Said Space Ghost. " Which ever one it is I hope he dresses better than that Blond Curly headed one with that colourful costume.  That made my eyes hurt" joked Space Ghost

Blip let at a loud squeak and covered his eye.  Jace, Jan and the Space Ghost started to laugh.

"How many times have you met the Doctor ?" asked Jan

"More times than I can remember" replied Space Ghost. He Continued " And I think I have met many different versions of him, possibly 8 ? "

" Each time he are you sure he is the same person ?" Jace enquired

" Yes, The Same Person, but he looks different and acts different." Said Space Ghost

" The Doctor says that when re regenerates even he does not know what he will or whome he will become. " Space Ghost added.

Then they heard that familiar sound..... It was the Tardis.

As it started to appear all four felt a little bit excited.

They all stood still and waited

As the Tardis got clearer and clearer, Blip started squeaking.... he  was always a bit afraid when he heard the Blue Box coming.

Jan looked over at Blip as the final Thud was heard as the Tardis landed.

Mean while in side the Tardis, The Doctor was speaking to his companions. He had asked Phooey and Jack to remain inside the Tardis until he had made sure there was no danger awaiting them.

Phooey and Jack were at first disappointed, but understood that if it turned out to be a trap, they could hopefully make a surprise counter attack.

Then The Doctor turned them both to face the view screen again. He had adjusted it to show the view outside the Phantom Cruiser. The Doctor's Tardis had  registered a high number of comets passing through the area. Possibly one of these had hit the Tardis. So he requested Phooey and Jack to keep an eye out just in case one came to close to their location. 

The Doctor then flicked the switch on the console and Doors opened. 

Then waving goodbye The Doctor walking towards the Doors.

Yesterdays Heroes Once More Part Thirty One....... Meet The Space Ghost.

 The Tardis had been on route to the location of the Next possible member of the team The Doctor was building to take on the Grand Master's Team of Evil Doers.

As the Tardis started to exit the Time Vortex it had collided with an object or objects unknown. This had caused a power outage withing the machine causing all the lights to go out. The impact had thrown the Doctor, Hong Kong Phooey and Samurai Jack to the floor of the console  room. The room was completely black and there was a deathly silence, 

As the lights began to flicker back on, the Doctor dragged himself to his feet. He could see that Phooey was sitting up rubbing his head, whilst Jack was also trying to compose himself. 

" Are you both Ok ?" enquirer the Doctor.   Jack and Phooey nodded.

"What hit us ?" asked Phooey

The Doctor was unsure, but first wanted to see if his Tardis had not been too badly damaged by the impact.

The Central Time Rota had stopped moving up and down, so he knew that they had either landed or had materialized somewhere out in space....... But where were they ?

The Tardis had already started to self repair many of its circuits.... But the Viewer was still off line. So the Doctor could not use it to have a look around outside. He knew that he could  open the exterior door... but would the ships force field be operative. It not he and his friends could be either sucked out into space or if they had landed on a hostile planet,  could be a the mercy of dangerous creatures or poisoned by gas or such like.

No he would have to wait for the Tardis to finish its repairs.   The Tardis trembled once more. Had something stuck them again.....?  The Doctor believed that taking no action could result in further damage. 

The Doctor started to fiddle with the viewer screen.  "That's it " he Said excited.

"We cannot see whats outside at the moment, but we can see what happened just before the Crash " he continued.

Turning the Viewer screen Knob, the screen started to come to life.

Stepping back and encouraging his friends to come forward, the three looked towards the Viewer screen that had started to work.

On the screen they could see a view of stars and planets.... and a small yellow rocket ship.

"Did we hit that Big Yellow Metal Bird ?" Said Jack.

" Well, that Big Yellow Metal Bird is called The Phantom Cruiser, and if we had hit that it would show signs of damage " replied The Doctor

The Doctor pushed a Button on the Console and the image enlarged. No, there appeared to be no damage on the Phantom Cruiser.

Then The Doctor pushed another button and turned a dial on the Console. 

"Lets see what happened before this " he said.

The Screen changed and showed a few moments before hand.

 There was nothing else out there thought The Doctor. There were some planets, but nothing else.

Then Phooey shouted "LOOK !"

The Doctor, Jack and Phooey Stood in silence as they gazed at the Viewer screen once more.

There was a man dressed in Black and White, wearing a Golden coloured cape.....It was the Space Ghost. 

"Was he firing at us ?" asked Phooey

"No "said The Doctor " He appeared to be firing above us " The Doctor continued.

The Doctor replayed the footage, this time stopping frame by frame.

The Doctor wondered what the Space Ghost had been firing at.

Then a voice spoke out from one of the small speakers located on the Console.

"Space Ghost to The Doctor ! Space Ghost to The Doctor ! Come in Doctor !"

The Doctor smiled and flicked a switch " Hello Thaddeus " Said the Doctor

"Is that You Doctor ? You sound different !" Replied the voice.

"Yes it is me, but maybe not the me you remember " Chuckled The Doctor.

Phooey looked at Jack and shrugged his shoulders. He did not understand what The Doctor had meant by that comment.

"Permission to come aboard The Phantom Cruiser ?" asked the Doctor

"Permission Granted" answered The Space Ghost.

With that the Doctor turned a few dials, and pushed some levers and the Time Rota at the centre of the Console started to move up and down. 

Next Time The Doctor finds out what the Space Ghost was firing at, and asks for his help.
