YESTERDAYS HEROES ONCE MORE Part Fifty Two..... The Falcon Swoops

Radley Crowne now continued his story.

By now the Battered Car was on its way to the docks, he himself its driver Radley Crowne was making his best speed. The viability was poor due to the weather. Only having one working head lamp also did not help, but at least both  of the windshield wipers were functioning, and were doing their best to help Radley see.

The pinging sound from the scanner that Radley had made told him he was going in the right direction, and as he got nearer to the Docks it became louder too.

The Docks in Big City were not the nicest of places, as many of the criminal gangs tended to base their illegal operations from the Area. However, with the bad weather, they looked very deserted as he drew up to the main gates to the Quayside. He switched off the head lamps and silenced the scanner.

He nudged the gates with the front of his car, they swung open, he drove forward at a very slow rate. He knew more or less where the stolen Rolls Royce was, as the scanner had indicated the middle of the main dock. A big bolt of lightning lit up the sky, and he got a glimpse of a large Tanker moored there in that location. The Rolls Royce was onboard, more likely in of the cargo boxes that he could see on the main deck.

He turned the car into an open cargo hanger. It appeared to be deserted. He held is breath, and opened the car door.   He quickly exited it, and went to the trunk and retired the bag he had placed there earlier. He had noticed that there was a small office over at the other side of of the building. He ran as quickly as he could to the door, opened it and went inside. The office was in darkness, but like the rest of the interior of the Cargo Hanger, the lighting did provide some visibility. He rummaged in his bag and pull out a small flash light. It had different settings, and could produce different colours, one of which was RED. Radley knew the Colour Red had been  used for years to aid night time vision.  He turned it on, ok the view was not great, but he could see a telephone on the desk. He picked it up..... and it was dead. The storm must have effected this one too. So no calling the Police.

Then at the other side of the desk was a door, Radley opened it, it was a small room with a toilet in it. The room was also used a to store a couple of brooms and a mop and bucket, and some cleaning materials.  He went in and shut the door behind him.. There were no windows, but hopefully he could use the room to help prepare himself for the next stage of the plan. He switched on the light. He  was hopeful that the door would not let out any light, that may attract  any attention from any one around. The bulb was not very bright, but was more use that the Red Torch light.  He then rotated the lock on the door to ensure he would not be disturbed.

Quickly, he emptied the contents of his bag, and started stuffing pieces of the contents into his pockets. On the back of the belt of his Blue combat uniform, there was a few hooks that he used to attach various things. His Stun Gun, a couple of smoke bombs, a distress flare gun. Other items he put in the many pockets that the Uniform had. In his left boot he placed his fathers camping blade, and in the right he pushed a file containing a very fast setting instant glue that he had designed to help seal any bullet holes in the uniform.

Finally he was ready, he switched off the light,  rotated the lock and opened the door.

A flash of lightning lit up the office, and he saw a pair of  eyes looking back at him.

Then a torch was shone at Radley temporally blinding him. But once his eyes adjusted for the glow of the light he could make  out the figure of a man. Then the light in the office was turned on. Now the person holding the torch was reveled. He was an older man,  Grey Haired, very tall, well dressed, but had a sinister look about him. On his cheek he had a long deep scar.  He did not look very friendly or amused to see Radley. Along with the torch he held in his right hand he also held a gun in the other.

Radley looked at the Guy standing in front of him. He was no nightwatchman for sure. The man was about mid fifties, he was over six feet tall. He was wearing a Suit, but the scar on his  face indicated he was a man not to mess with. Also the fact this Man was holding a revolver was a clear indication this was not a your average  business man either.... But Radley knew this Guy meant Business.

The Man then waved his Gun in a manner than indicated that he wanted Radley to come out of the Bathroom and come towards him. Radley complied as he knew that his only way of escape was through the door behind the Man with the Gun

The Man looked Radley Up and Down, smiled and spoke " What do we have here ?.... You are a little bit early to be going trick or treating " he laughed

As Radley was dressed in an unusual way,  the comment made sense. The comment made him smile too.

"Okay Blue Bird, whats yous doing in here ?" The Scar Faced man said

Before Radley could answer, the Scar Faced Guy then smiled, and fired his Gun..... Radley felt a sharp pain in his chest and fell backwards  through the still open toilet door behind him and ended up sitting on the toilet pan. Then the Man walked  forward and towered over Radley.

"Yous, not dead Blue Bird ? " He said puzzled, then he  raising his gun again. He was preparing to fire again.

In a flash Radley leaped up and  grabbed the mop that was in the Bathroom, he swung it and knocked the gun from the Mans hand. Then he lurched forward and pushed the  scar faced man backward. The large man traveled backwards into the office and fell and hit his head on the desk behind. The impact scatted the contents of it all over the office. The Scar Faced Man  was out for the count. Radley then realized that the uniform had saved him, but the pain he felt was from the impact of the bullet.  Looking down he could see a slight mark on the uniform, but the material was still intact. He picked up the revolver from the floor, it could come in useful later he thought. He looked at the scar faced man laying on the floor, he was still breathing. Concussed but alive. Radley knew that this man had just tried to kill him, but still worried that he had himself not become a killer too.

But by now Radley body was running on adrenaline, he quickly turned off the light and exited the office. Was this Guy alone ? he would soon find out. He reached into his boot and retrieved the file of adhesive. He poured some of it on  the door lock and closed the door. Within seconds the door was stuck tight. If someone tied to open it they would believe it was locked, and with lights tuned office no one could see the Large Guy laying on the floor.

Running over to the front of the Cargo Bay, he peeped out of the door. He could see at least 10 people walking around the dock in front of the Ship.  Two of which he would see were carrying what he believed were shotguns. The Storm was still raging, but from all the activity, it looked like preparations were being made for the Cargo Ship to set sail.  Radley needed a plan to delay this happening.  The noise of the Thunder had helped cover the earlier gun shot he hoped.

Radley could see that the Storm was making communication difficult for the men. This could work as an advantage he thought. He could take out these guys one by one.  Then he noticed one of the men walking towards his direction he was. Had he been spotted? Had he heard the Gun shot ?

For the Next part of the Falcon's Tale come back next time.

Until then ENJOY !
