Yesterdays Heroes Once More part Forty Five ... Repairs and Reunions

 The Doctor had ushered the Wonder Twins inside the Tardis, where Samurai Jack and Hong Kong Phooey stood waiting to meet them. Both The Blue Falcon and Space Ghost waved to the youngsters, before they departed to check on the other twins and Dyno - Mutt.

The Wonder Twins were introduced by the Doctor, and both Jack & Phooey bowed and then told them about themselves. Both Jack and Phooey were taken aback at the Wonder Twins ears. 

Phooey raised an eye brow and said "Fascinating !"

In the meantime the Doctor had activated the Time Rota and the Tardis took off. He had not set the next destination yet, but thought that to remain within the Hall of Justice could lead to discovery and awkward questions. 

Meanwhile, In the Repair Lab, Jace and his sister Jen were finishing up repairs to Dyno -Mutt who had had a spectacular overload and had exploded whilst showing off to the Doctor the day before.

The Repair Lab was full of lots of gadgets and gizmos, which the Twins has used to repair Dyno-Mutt.

When they had arrived in the Lab a few hours before Dyno- Mutt was in many pieces. Dyno - Mutt was so happy to see them. 

Entering into the Lab they were also greeted by Blip, who was sitting on one of Dyno - Mutts still unattached boots. 

The Twins were used to making repairs as Space Ghost had insured that they had the knowledge and know how to make repairs to the Phantom Cruiser when required.  

" We will have you back up on your Paws very soon " Said Jace

It had taken a time Jace was finally attaching Dyno - Mutts head and Jan was cleaning up his body work. The work was nearly finishes. Even Blip was helping tidy up the Repair Lab. 

Jan & Jace stood back and looked at Dyno -Mutt..... He was as good a new. Ok Jace had a few bolts and washers he could not find where they had come from, but Dyno said he did carry some spares so they may well be on of those.

Just then Space Ghost & The Blue Falcon walked through the door.

" Your looking Perfect " said an over joyed Falcon

"Is my X Ray vision working overtime ?" said a confused Dyno

"Where is your masks ?" asked Dyno as he noticed that both The Falcon and Space Ghost had pulled back the cowls.

"Doctors orders " Laughed the Falcon.

"No masks in the Tardis" Added Space Ghost. 

" When off duty we use our civilian names" continued The Falcon. 

Dyno looked puzzled.

" You ok with that Reggie ?" said Jan

"okay dokay " Replied Dyno  and with a wag of his tail he took off his cowl in his usual amusing manner. 

"But I am keeping my cape on, its chilly in here" he continued.

Everyone laughed.  

 

The others looked on as he transformed from Dyno - Mutt to plain old Reggie.

Then the five of them plus Blip made sure that everything was in order and put away, and left the Repair Lab. The Doctor wanted everyone to meet The Wonder Twins, and for Dyno to meet Phooey and Jack. As the Console room was now becoming a little crowded, the Doctor had ask them to meet him in the main meeting room where they could discuss where they planed to go next. On the way to the Meeting Room the Doctor asked the Wonder Twins could they suggest anyone to join his quest. He showed him the list of possible team mates.

" These" said Zan

"Yes" Jayna replied.

" They are a trio who fight as a team, and I think one of these guys would work well with my powers " added Zan

" Ok" Said the Doctor I will think about it. 

Next Time the crew go off on a new adventure to find a new member or is that members  the team.

Yesterdays Heroes Once More ..Part Forty Four ... A Mystery Solved ?

 The Doctor had been able to calm down the Wonder Twins. He had deduced when he first saw them that they appeared to be under the influence of something or somebody. He realized that they had all entered the Hall of Justice uninvited, but to have the Twins attack without asking questions seems a little bit rash. Their eyes looked vacant when he first saw them. The Music from his recorder had help break what ever control that had been put on them.  Original tune, the Doctor said was a old song from his youth. It was called "The Laughing Tune"  and its notes were designed to make every one laugh. The Second series of notes basically broke the trance that had been put on them. 

Jayna had acted in a violent and vicious manner, not in keeping with what he had learnt about her from his files and from the Blue Falcon. The Doctor needed to know what had happened, and why. 

"Jayna my dear" Said the Doctor " I am called the Doctor, this is The Space Ghost and he as you know is called the Blue Falcon" he said pointing to the man who was controlling the force field surrounding her, and the man who was holding on to her twin brother. " You said you and your brother had never met The Blue Falcon before. Is that correct ?" he continued pointing to The Falcon.

"Yes, we have never met him before today" She replied

"That's correct, we had only heard about him this morning" Chipped in Zan

"Blue Falcon, you say you have indeed met the Wonder Twins in the past ? " Said The Doctor to the Falcon, who was had applied a pair of his Falcon Cuffs to the wrists of Zan.

" I first  met the Twins over a year ago, when I helped out during The Crisis " confirmed The Falcon. 

"What Crisis ?"  both Twins said in unison.

"Well" Said the Doctor. " This can only mean one of 3 things. 1/ Someone is not telling the Truth, 2/  Both parties are telling the Truth or 3/  For one Party your meeting has not  happened Yet .

" You mean that I have met the Wonder Twins or will meet them in their Future, but to me it is my past ? Said the Falcon.

"I think that is whats happened here" Said the Doctor.

" What does that mean ?, I am confused !" said Zan 

"Time Travel, my dear boy, Time Travel !" said the Doctor.  Then he explained that he was from a race of beings that were know as Time Lords. And they at times could inadvertently meet  the same person or persons at different times during that person life, but which if not correctly calculated for could make it confusing. He went on to say he had met the Space Ghost many times in his life. But that the Space Ghost had indicated that he had met The Doctor. or a Doctor more times. 

" And he some times is not the same person either !" Said Space Ghost

" Thaddeus " said the Doctor waving a finger "Knowing ones future is never a good thing" he continued. " Especially a Time Lord knowing his future" he added

"But we now know we will meet The Blue Falcon in our Future, will that not make things difficult or even different ?" Said Jayna

"Yes, It will, but I may have a plan to sort that out " the Doctor said

The Doctor then explained that he and his friends had come to ask if they, the Wonder Twins would consider helping him with his mission, But the Doctor was still a little concerned about why Jayna & Zan had acted in such a way when they first seen The Falcon.

He then asked The Falcon to release Zan, and asked The Space Ghost to lower his force field and release Jayna. Then the Doctor asked them to tell him what had happened before the Falcon had made his entrance.

Jayna started to explain. Earlier that day they had been on duty and had received a transmission from the Planet OA. Zan said if he be allowed he could show them the message on the large screen over head.

The Screen showed a Blue Man wearing Red Robes with a Green and White emblem on it. Blue Falcon recognized it as something he had seen during the CRISIS worn by a man calling himself A Green Lantern.

Jayna told them that this man was one of he Guardians, elders of the Universe who controlled all of the Green Lantern Corps, and the Corps where basically an inter galactic Police Force. They all had powerful Rings that were powered by green energy. 

Then she pushed a button and the Message Played.

The Guardian introduced himself as Ganthet, he was contacting them to inform them that a one of their Green Lanterns, of sector 2814 had been kidnapped by a villain calling himself the Blue Falcon. He had taken his Power Ring and was intent in using it to  destroy the Hall of Justice and all the Super Friends. Jayna pointed to the same logo on the wall. Ganthet was talking about their  teams Green Lantern Zan said .  They had tried to contact him, but were unable so the story made sense at the time. 

The Doctor reached over and stopped the transmission. He then re ran the transmission at a much slower pace. Pointing to the image on the screen, the Doctor pointed to the Eyes of the Guardian, He said if you look at them you will notice that they flicker. He was trying to hypnotize you as he was speaking. He appears to have been trying to hopefully alter how you reason with things. Where most people would ask questions before going on the offensive, he clearly wanted you to attack first.

Everyone looked, yes they did flicker.

"But why? " questioned Space Ghost. 

The Doctor flicked another few switches, and the picture started to alter. The Doctor had noticed that the image  transmitted seemed to have been passed through a perception filter.  The image started to alter.

"That's the Grand master" Exclaimed Space Ghost.

"Yes" said the Doctor and went on to explain to The Wonder Twins that this was the person who had originally set up this contest. 

"Come out " Shouted the Doctor. " I know you are watching ! " he continued.

Then all of the Monitoring screens went blank...... and 

Laughter filed the Monitoring Room and a figure appeared. It was  Ganthet, who quickly morphed into his true appearance , The Grand Master

" Greetings Doctor, Oh I did like playing that little game with you. " He laughed.

" Little Game ?, Little Game ? " Said an annoyed Doctor. " It is not a Little Game, you were changing the rules, you were trying to cheat as usual ... You tried it last time when you Kidnapped Maid Marion, Jane Poter,  Dale Arden and Princess Narda!"  he continued.

" Maybe, maybe not" Laughed the Grand Master. "Now you better get a move on as you still need to recruit many more players. My team is now complete. And every minute you take on your recruitment drive, allows my Players time work out nasty ways of destroying yours" The Grand Master again laughed and fading from sight.

"We will join you" Said Jayna

"If you still want our help ?" said Zan

"Welcome to the Team" said the Doctor shaking hands with first Zan, and then his sister.

Before the Twins could leave the Hall of Justice they need someone to cover their duties. A quick call to Marvin White & Wendy Harris was made. They arrived within minutes and took over from the Twins who had said that they had some personal business to attend to, but not to worry any of the other Super Friends with it. The Doctor , The Falcon & Space Ghost had already gone back to the Tardis before they arrived, so not to confuse matters.

The Wonder Twins had been told where the Tardis was, and once they had arrived outside the Doctor Greeted then and invited them inside.

Within seconds the Tardis was off, to find out where.

Yesterdays Heroes Once More Part Forty Three.... The Doctor Steps in

The Blue Falcon was now imprisoned inside a big Ice Cage and was trying not to get either pecked of slashed by the Giant Eagle who had landed on top of it.

In fact the Ice Cage and the Giant Eagle were the transformed forms of the Wonder Twins, Jayna and Zan. The Doctor had broken his cover and had come out of the Space Ghosts Invisibility shield and wanted to try to settle every thing down.

The Doctor suspected that the Twins had been some what manipulated by a unknown third party. From what he had heard both Zan and Jayna were good nature youngsters, and used their powers in a passive way. But what puzzled the Doctor the most was even though The Falcon was now their prisoner, why was Jayna so intent in hurting him ?

The Doctor who was now fully visible started waving his hands in the air, trying to distract the very frantic and extremely berserk Jayna. 

He reach across and pulled his Red Handkerchief from his top pocket and started having in was his right Hand. Jayna still in her Eagle form attention was now directed towards the Doctor. He knew he only had seconds before he became the next target of Jayna's rage.

As he waved the Red Hanky in the air, he reached into his left jacket pocked and pull out a long stripped blue rod that a tassel hanging from it. He held it up in his Left Hand and started to wave it also.  Jayna stopped screeching and watched the Doctor. 

Then the Doctor Dropped his hanky and put the Stripped Blue Rod to his lips and started to blow. It was his recorder, and he started to play a merry tune.  It was soothing , it was beautiful. It was an old Gallifreyian  nursery rhyme     Jayna started to laugh, and she was joined by another persons laughter... The Doctor assumed it must be her brother Zan, whos face was hidden behind the Blue Falcon. Then the Blue Falcon started to laugh, as did the invisible Space Ghost. 

Then both Twins still laughing shouted " Deactivate" and  with a blight flash of light they transformed back into their true forms with a very confused  Blue Falcon standing between them.

The Doctor stopped playing his recorder, but as he did the laughing smiling faces of the Wonder Twins changed once more into that of rage. 

" Quick " send the Doctor "keep them separated" he shouted as he stepped back away from the fracas. 

The Falcon grabbed a hold of Zan whilst Space Ghost who had now also become visible, projected one of his force fields to surround Janya who had instinctively  moved forward to aid her brother. 

" Now" said the Doctor " I want every one to stay calm, no more fighting. I want you both to tell me why you both acted this way? " He said in a stern voice.

The calmness that had come over Zan & Jayna was now replaced with anger again.

Jayna punched at the force field, and Zan needed to be wrestled to the ground by the Falcon.

The Doctor once again started to blow into his Recorder, but this time it was not a merry little tune, it was a series of harsh and shrill notes. These notes so harsh that even the Doctor found them hard to deal with.  This had an effect on the twins, they stopped struggling and again became more passive. Whatever malady had effected them seemed to have been banished. Both The Space Ghost and the Blue Falcon had been spared some of the discomfort as their cowls had offered some protection. The Twins on the other hand had very sensitive ears, and the effect on them was greatly intensified. 

"Now" Said the Doctor in a softer voice "Please tell me what made you two charming youngster act in such a way ?"
