Yesterdays Heroes once again Part Seventy Six....... Making Peace and Putting the Pieces Back Together

Now that peace had been restored both groups worked together to now restore the hotel room back to how it had been before the fighting had taken place. 

As they all started to tidy up the  hotel room, the Impossibles told the Doctor and his team a little bit more about themselves. 

Fluid Man introduced himself as Walter Wells, lead singer of the Group..... but not always, we take it in turns he explained. 

Multi Man said he was called  Lee Genn, he was the main Music Composer of the Band....

and Coil Man said that he was known as Manny Springs, and said he said he specialized in writing the lyrics to their songs.

The Doctor laughed and said that those could not possibly be their real names.

The 3 Impossibles  all with three Identities. The Private Person, The Rock Star & The Hero

Fluid Man aka Walter Wells as in Water Well !!! ..... Multi Man aka Lee Genn as in Legion  as he could become Many !!!!.... and Coil Man aka  Manny Springs as in Many Springs !!!!! The Doctor understood the Joke. However, this humor went over the top of  Phooey, Reggie and Jacks heads.

Manny explained that these names were given to them by their Boss Big D as well as their Super Hero alias'. Walter said that they did not know very much about their past, but they knew they must be close friends or even related. 

Lee continued that even they did not know their real names, where they came from or how they got their powers.... but they knew how to play music and sing. They had recently been drafted into a secret organisation and trained to be undercover agents to help fight a sinister evil organisation call FEAR. All they knew about their past was over a year ago they had woken up in military  hospital with no idea how they got their or who they were. However, they all seemed to recognize one another, but that was all they knew.   Where or how they got their amazing abilities as also a mystery. .

"Our Fans call us  The Imp's for short.  Therefore we are also known as Walter Imp, Lee Imp and Manny Imp, but our Boss has other  nick names also for us also.  He calls us Wavy, Shaggy & Curlie, Due to our Hair Styles" laughed Manny

" I know a Shaggy, he's friends with my Pal Scooby Doo " Pipped up Reggie laughing think about his friends from Mystery Incorporated. " That's not his real name, he is really called Norville Rogers, but he prefers Shaggy " continued the very excitable Pooch. 

SCOOBY DOO, SHAGGY & DYNO - MUTT

Walter continued and said that if there would be  time they would let everyone know the little of what they did know about their origins. The Doctor said he that they would definitely have Time Later and looked forward to hearing all about them. The Doctor also said he  thought that his other friends back at his mobile HQ where doing some research, and may have discovered some facts that may also to help the boys find out more about their past.. Although the Doctor had mentioned his Tardis in passing, he thought " Mobile HQ " sounded a little more of a simplistic description of his Blue Box.  

Fluid Man showed the Doctor and his team that apart from  being able to turn into liquids he could absorb liquids into his body also. Which he did to help remove the moisture from the carpet.

  Phooey had found two mops and  some buckets in a closet and was starting to help mop the floor.

" You look like you done this before " Multi Man said to Phooey

" I know my way around a mop and bucket " Phooey said winking at Jack who was straightening the furniture. Jack apprenticed this Joke as usually he had little clue what anyone said in general. He remember meeting Phooey the first time when he was dressed as Penry the Police Station Janitor complete with mop and bucket.

Jack had discovered his sun glasses, they had slipped down the back of one of the chairs. He was pleased to see they were not broken.

"Sorry about ripping your clothes" said Multi Man to Phooey

"Its ok Lee, they are borrowed from the Hotel" Phooey replied. 

 Multi Man took the second mop and then showed every one that another part of his power allowed him not just he could duplicate just himself, but could create any item he was holding at the time. 

So an army of Multi Men with mops in hand joined in. 

Reggie transformed his tail into a vacuum, and was sucking up all the dust from Multi Mans duplicates.  

 After he had wiped all the dirty foot and paw prints off of the walls and ceiling Coil Man found his hair dryer and his brush and helped dry and re style each and every ones hair for them.  After which he redid his own. 

There was quiet a bit of dust laying around in the room, which had come from Multi Mans duplicates when they had exploded after being hit by Phooey. Reggie with his vacuum and duster had made good work dealing with the excess dust.. 

"When your Duplicates Explode into Dust, does it hurt ?" Asked Phooey sheepishly.

"No, my Duplicates do not feel anything, me nether when it happens. However if you had hit me I would not explode, but it would sure hurt " Multi Man said smiling. 

In a very short time the room was back to normal. Little trace of any damage was visible. The Carpets were dry. The place was spotless.

The Doctor and Phooey had completely changed out of their Chef and Bell Boy costumes by then. They did not need to disguise themselves any more.  The Doctors hair and Jack & Phooey's Wigs  looked perfect thanks to Manny.

"Very nice " said the Doctor looking at himself in the Mirror.

The Doctor had decided that they would not  go back to the Tardis straight away.   He wanted to investigate what was about to happen at Candle Stick Park first regarding the robbery.  He had made this decision for two reasons.

The Firstly,  they had all witnessed the numbers of people outside the Hotel.  With the large crowds of Fans outside  any chance of the  Impossibles leaving without being seen would very Impossible. The press was out there too in large numbers trying to capture photographs of the group, and the Doctor knew that he for one did not want to be photographed. 

The Police were outside trying to keep the crowds of fans in order, and they would most likely provide a police escort for the group. And if  someone was to  follow them to the Pier they may get a glimpse of his Tardis.... or worse someone may see it taking off and vanishing.

The Second reason was ,  connected to the flashing light he had noticed on the Console back in the Tardis as they had left a few hours before. This needed urgent investigation, and the Doctor believed the answer to this mystery could be found at Candlestick Park.

The Impossibles said they had an appointment with a TV News crew in about half hour. It was scheduled to take place  in one of the function rooms  down on the ground floor of the Hotel. Big D, who was their Boss,  also acted as their tour agent,  was at present down stairs making the final arrangements, so that was why he or anyone of the groups management team had not been privy to all the fun and games that had taken place in the  Presidential Suite earlier on.  

Fluid Man rang down to main desk and asked the Hotel to order a Taxi Cab to take the Doctor and the others to Candlestick Park..... and charge the Bill to their Room.... along with a Bell Boys Uniform and a set of Chefs Whites that the Group had borrowed for a joke earlier on during the day. As for the two Food trolleys that Reggie had cut holes in with his Heat Vision, it was decide that the Imps would sneak them down to the Staff Elevator later and leave them inside. As that lift went to every floor know one could connect them to their floor , let alone their Hotel Room. 

" Yes, I would have preferred to make reparations to the Hotel for them, but then someone would need to tell the Hotel how holes were cut into them in the first place?" Said the Doctor looking at Reggie

"Did I do wrong ? "  Reggie said sheepishly

The Doctor replied " No, not really , but no more heat vision unless I tell you its alright or necessary "

Reggie smiled and nodded. 

The Doctor smiled. The 3 Imps were good boys after all he thought looking at the two ruined outfits that had been thrown into the rubbish bin. They had impressed the Doctor greatly.

The Impossibles agreed that would do their TV interview and would follow on later to Candlestick Park. They had decided that they would not tell Big D about the Doctor or what had happened as this could and would confuse matters more than they needed.   The Doctor looked at his pocket watch, it was nearly half past four. The Concert was not going to take place until Seven Thirty that evening, so hopefully he and the others would have ample time to locate the outlaw man Johnny Ringo who would be hiding somewhere inside or near by the Stadium getting ready to strike later on.

The Impossibles said that they needed to change before their TV interview and they would then escort the Doctor  and his party down stairs. Thus avoiding any one questioning how Reggie a Dog had managed to enter the Hotel undetected. If challenged Lee aka Multi Man would say Reggie was their official mascot. 

The Impossibles took little time to get all suited and booted in their concert attire. Before they left the room, Manny gave the Doctor an envelope. "As promised " whispered Manny to the Doctor. 

"Is your face better ?" asked the Doctor looking and not seeing the big scratch that he had picked up battling Reggie. 

" We all heal very quickly " Replied Manny " Somehow its all connected to our powers I think  " he added.

The Doctor thanked him and he placed the envelope inside of his Jacket. At least he could keep at least one  promise he had made earlier in the day.

Then the trio directed the Doctor and his team out of the room back into the corridor and along the passageway to the Elevators that were for the use of the guests.

"Remember no more talking Reggie ! " said the Doctor patting Reggie on the Head.

"Okay" Whispered Reggie

Yesterdays Heroes Once More... Part Seventy Five... Clearing up matters

 The Doctor and his team had finally made contact with the Impossibles, however this meeting had not gone to plan.

Instead of it being a pleasant conversation resulting with the Impossibles agreeing to help and Doctor on his quest to save his companion Jamie from the Clutches of the Evil Grand Master, it had ended up with the young Impossibles in conflict with them.

The Doctor was still laying on the Green couch that he had landed on when Jack had pushed him out of harms way a few minutes before. Still a little bewildered , the Doctor  had finally managed to stand up and had done his best to tidy himself.

 He knew  looked like a mess, but  as he tried smoothed his ruffled hair . Then he  looked around the room in horror as he witnessed his friends fighting the very people he wanted to recruit. He took off his ruined neck scarf and started waving it in an attempt to catch everyone's  attention, but this did not seem to work.

He watched on as Jack was being rained on by Fluid Man.  Jack was doing his best to beat back the water with his Katanna , but it had little effect. Maybe turning the trusty blade back into the Umbrella would be a better idea thought the Doctor. 

Coil Man was fighting with Reggie, both seemed equally matched. They were bouncing off of the walls with great vigor, but Reggie had managed to grab a hold of his springy  sparing partner by sinking his teeth into Coil Mans boot whilst bouncing his head up and down on the carpet.

"No Biting !" the Doctor shouted to Reggie, but  Wonder Mutt appeared not to hear. 

Phooey was now getting the hang of fighting the many duplicates of Multi Man. They all seemed to have the same fighting skills. Basically they had little if no tactics, but there was so many of them. They confronted Phooey in pairs. Phooey had finally found Multi Mans weak spot, and if Phooey hit it with one of his Hong Kong Phooey Chops, the Duplicate exploded into dust. However, for every one Phooey dispatched another one seemed to replace it. Their numbers would in time wear down Phooey.

 If he could find the "Real" Multi Man in this crowd of Duplicates maybe he could have a chance of knocking him out and finishing the fight.... But which Multi Man was the real Multi Man ? Phooey pondered.

The Doctor realized it was down to him to finish this pointless conflict before some one got badly injured.  Throwing down the Red Scarf,  The Doctor  tore open  his Chefs jacket he was wearing. Underneath he was still wearing his own clothes. 

He rummaged in on of his jacket pockets, finding what he wanted he pulled it out. 

This had worked before, maybe it would work again. From his pocket  he drew his Blue Stripey Recorder. The same one he had used back in the Halls of Justice when  conflict had arisen with The Wonder Twins, himself, Space Ghost and The Blue Falcon. 

Moving further into the centre of room the Doctor placed the recorder to his lips and started to blow. It was the same Gallifreyian Nursery Rhyme he  had played before.  At the same time he bobbed up and down in time with the music,  trying to distract everyone. As the merry tune rang out one by one every one started to smile and laugh.  Then everyone stopped fighting they all looked towards the Doctor, who was by now dancing a little jig and leaping about like a crazy person. It looked like the Doctors tactics had worked.

The fighting was over,  and it was replaced by howls of laughed from not just the 3 Impossibles, but the Doctors team too. Even Jack smiled, and that was a rare thing for him to do indeed. 

Then Multi Man approached the Doctor accompanied by the other 2 Impossibles, and were quickly followed by Phooey, Reggie and Jack. The Doctor stopped playing .. he cleared his throat and then spoke.

"Now before I reintroduce myself and my colleges I want to apologize for any misunderstanding that lead to that unnecessary out break of fisty - cuffs just now. " the Doctor said looking down slightly embarrassed.  He replaced his recorder back inside his jacket and sighed. 

As Phooey, Jack and Reggie joined the Doctor the three friends embraced each other.  Then the Doctor continued " As I have already told Mr Fluid Man,  my name is the Doctor, and I have come here today to ask for your help, not fight with you.  In return for your assistance ,  I or should I say WE would like to help you in anyway we can with your investigations of the strange things that have been happening here in San Francisco. These are my friends, Penry, Reggie and Jack and I am sure I can say on their behalf they are sorry if they have hurt you in any manner"

Jack looked over at the Doctor and nodded his approval whilst Phooey and Reggie smiled at the Impossibles. 

 Then then Doctor explained all about the Grand Master and that he was putting together a team  of heroes that could match the one the Team of  Evil Doers that the  Elder of the Universe had himself formed. The Doctor told them about  his friend Jamie, and about the threat that all of their worlds were at risk of destruction if he did not take part in this so called Game. He said he had so far amassed 8 people to help him. Most of who were back at his base of operations. He did not included Jan & Jace as they had only been made part of the group due their involvement with The Space Ghost.

He introduced the part of his group he had brought with him, but did not give much information other than their names were Penry, Jack and Reggie. 

The Doctor had decided not to tell them that Samurai Jack was a Japanese Warrior from the ancient past. As for telling them that Hong Kong Phooey was a walking talking Dog and part time Super Hero that would raise too many questions.  And as for what Wonder Mutt, and how he came to be  was would take take far too long.   ....And how could he start to explain that they had all come from very different time periods and from different versions of Earth and different Universes.  The Doctor thought that   The Whys ? and How ?  questions would take too long for him to explain at this time.  The right time would be back at the Tardis when they got to meet the rest of the team.  

The Doctor said  he knew why the Band were in San Francisco. He said as he had discovered with the help of some of the other members of his team back at his base,  that over the last few weeks and months  many strange events had occurred, that had included sightings of people dressed as if they were from another time and place. Unexplained robberies of valuable items from Museums. He said he even knew about the Dinosaur that had been spotted down by the Bay.  He explained that maybe they did not realize that Time Travel was possible, and used properly could be used for good and exploration. To learn things, to see marvels of past times. Learn things, and gain knowledge.

However,  The Doctor believed that what was happening in San Francisco was something worse and more sinister.  Was someone or some body manipulating  events for their own cause. Bringing  any being from the Past into the Future was never a positive thing, or good idea.  At present the Doctor said did not know the reason why anyone would be doing this, but he told the Impossibles this should not be allowed to continue.  The Doctor then pulled out a piece of paper from his jacket, unfolded it and showed the Impossibles a copy of the front page of what would be Tomorrows local Newspaper . This detailed about a Robbery that would happen during their concert at Candle Stick Park tonight. The Robbery by a Cowboy called Johnny Ringo,   The Impossibles took the paper, they knew the newspaper well, it looked real enough..... but  was this true ? But after the events of today in the Hotel Suite just now, all of them now knew anything was not Impossible. 

The Impossibles asked if they could have a few minutes to discuss among themselves what the Doctor had told them.

They walked to the far corner of the room, and after about two minutes the three turned and smiled and announced they would indeed help the Doctor on his mission. " Rally Ho" they all shouted they all shouted in unison. Fluid Man handed the Newspaper page back to the Doctor, 

Fluid Man who seemed to be the spokesman of the group then said " Ok Doctor, what should we do first ?"

The Doctor smiled " Well dear boy, I think we should tidy up all the mess in the room" he announced.

They all looked around the room at the mess their little fracas had caused. Chairs had been tipped over. Pictures had falling off of the walls. The carpets were soaking wet and covered in dust from Multi Mans duplicates .  There was foot prints and scuff marks  on the ceiling,  caused by  Reggie battling with Coil Man. The room looked like a Bomb had gone off in it. 

"Yes, I know that some Rock and Roll Bands make a living out of trashing hotel rooms" said Multi Man

"But our fans expect better from us" Chipped in Coil Man.

 Looking at all the persons within the room, it was clear to The Doctor that some had fared better than others. . Fluid Man looked as fresh as he had done before powering up, as did Multi Man as he had not actually taken on any of fighting himself. Only his duplicates had been hurt. As for Coil Man, he  looked a bit of a mess, after taking on the Mechanical Dog Reggie aka Wonder Mutt.  One of his boots had been completely ruined due to a Reggie biting into it, and he had scratch to his face and body.  The Doctor realized that Reggie was a formidable fighter and should not be under estimated. 

Both Samurai Jack and Wonder Mutt although wet looked fine. However Jacks wig looked a little bit damp and would need some attention.  The Doctor noted  he had also lost his sunglasses. Hong Hong Phooey Bell Boys Uniform was ripped and torn and the Doctor Chefs uniform looked like it had seen better days. Both him and Phooey had also lost their  head wear  in all of the commotion.  But that did not matter.

First the Doctor said they all needed to tidy the Room, then they could look at making themselves more presentable. Plus this group task would hopefully help both teams bond and get to know each other. 

"Alright, let get started " said the Doctor chapping his hands together.
