Yesterdays Heroes Once More... Part Two Here Comes The Doctor !

Before The Doctor starts to recruit his team of Heroes to take on the Grand Masters masters of Evil,  a little bit about how the Doctor was captured and  forced into playing Game of "Cosmic Chess" with one of the elders of the Universe.

The Doctor some time after his 1st Regeneration was Travelling alone in his Tardis. ..... But the Doctor was sure that he had  been talking with someone a few minutes before.

When ..........

When his Tardis was was engulfed by a Strange Ball of Energy....

and removed from its position in time and space....

Only to re materialise on a strange platform out side normal Time & Space....


At first The Doctor thought it was his people The Time Lords of Gallifrey.... but he was wrong.

As the Tardis controls were frozen, and his scanners did not work, The Doctor waited unable to open the Tardis doors to see who had kidnapped him and where he was.

Then the Tardis doors opened and in stepped a blue man who's identity The Doctor did not know, or did he.?

"WHO are YOU ?" enquired the Doctor 

"Hello again Doctor", said the Blue Man,  "are you ready to play another game ? "

As the stranger uttered the words, The Doctor started to remember the last time he had met this strange man........

The Doctor was not very happy with this reunion.

"NO" shouted The Doctor, "I will NOT be forced into playing any further games with you !"
The Doctor went on and said "You can't make me !"

The Grand Master pointed to the Tardis View screen..... "Yes I Can ! " he uttered

On the view screen appeared a young man...... "Jamie !" exclaimed The Doctor..... "WHAT have you done to Him ?"


"Nothing yet, but in 24 hours his supply of air will run out and he will suffocate" explained The Grand Master.

Jamie McCrimmon was the Doctor's latest travelling companion. The Doctor now remembered that Jamie was with him before the Grand Master kidnapped the Tardis.

Now the Doctor knew what the stakes were, but what was the Game this time. The Grand Master explained that he had gathered a Team together and the Games was to stop them from destroying Earth.

The Grand Master used telepathy to show  the Doctor who was on his team this time. True Masters of Evil everyone.  The Doctor was unhappy short period of time he had to recruit his team. Just 24 hours to recruit a team and then make battle was not long enough.... but the Grand Master explained that the Game would start as soon as The Doctor had returned with his Team.

Until then the Grand Master promised to put Jamie in Status until then.

Jamie was safe for now. 

The Doctor knew from past meeting with the Grand Master  that he never made idle threats, but was a man of his word. The Doctor  at least believed Jamie was safe for the time being,  The last game the Doctor had won, by bring together a team of Heroes that beat the Grand Masters team of villains. Could he do it again ?



Next Time the Doctor goes on a recruitment drive.

Yesterdays Heroes Once More Part Two..... The Challenge

Last time I mentioned that Elder of the Universe and master games player.... Marvel's Grandmaster appears to have been responsible for bringing together a number of Bad Guys to challenge a team of heroes put  together by one of the most famous time travellers ever known..... The Time Lord  from Gallifrey , Know as The DOCTOR.

The out come of the first battle is unknown, was it a tie, was it a victory for the Agents of Good, or did the combined might of the various Masters of Mayhem and Evil triumph.  Or was it just the first battle or bout of many..... Whichever or what ever the outcome, the Grandmaster yet again challenged The Doctor, but this time he wanted "Another " Doctor to pit his wits again.

The Same Doctor, but now after his first regeneration.





This younger Doctor, had all the knowledge of his older self, but was a little more a comical character, than his old grumpy old man original. With his baggy clothes and his unkempt look, made his even more different from his predecessor

The original Doctor would describe this "replacement" as a Clown, when they finally meet years later.


The Doctors more humorist approach may have help decided his choice of players he could chose to take on The Grandmaster in his cosmic game of chess.

Yesterdays Heroes Once More

Back in April 2017 I did a group of Characters unrelated but were Heroes that over the years had  either been forgotten or had not been popular in some time.

These included the likes of Tarzan, The Green Hornet and Kato, British Space Hero Dan Dare, and Princess of Power She -Ra to name a few.

When I started the series I did not have any idea of how I could link all the characters together other than they were characters as I said were no longer popular and in some way forgotten.

So at the end I though what could bring all these heroes together from different time periods. Then I though if some of the heroes enemies could bad together why could the same be allowed for the heroes too..... But who would do it...... ?

Looking at some of my past work I came up with the ideal hero or non hero who could do this. The Doctor himself..... or Dr Who as many people refer to him.

Can you name all of the Heroes ?

I called these Heroes, my "Childhood Avengers !" Most straight out of books and fiction I read as young boy growing up in the 1960's.   Plus I threw in She -Ra as I thought I needed a woman on the team too.  Ok a very powerful one at that...... and a Princess to boot. Dale Arden, Jane Porter and The Maid Marion all could have joined the team...... but they would have wanted saving as was that type of heroine back in the day when they were first written.

This was my depiction of the Original and First Doctor from way back in 1963 and used him and his Tardis as the idea vehicle to bring the many heroes from my blog together to fight the evil alliance of Loki, Norse God of Mischief, The Mekon , Skeletor all lead by Ming The Merciless .

Like in all good stories the Good Guys would have won in the end. ( OR did they only win Round One ? ) 14 against 4 are good odds........ but each of these 4 bad Guys would most likely have an army of 100's  behind them.


As my first look at forgotten heroes appeared to go down well with all those kind people who visit my Blog, I thought I would have another go at doing a similar thing.


BUT this time I would look at Who and Why the First set of Characters needed to be brought together.


and who brought together all of the Bad Guys in the First Place ? It could not have been Ming, he was powerful but not a Time Traveller,  It could not of been The Mekon, Venus was his empire, Skeletor only wanted to conquer Castle Grey-skull and rule Eternia. Even Loki would of only want allies to help he capture the Throne of Asgard.   So I would assume that some one else was pulling the strings behind the scenes. Someone who could offer each of the Villains what they wanted if they worked for him.

I did consider The Doctors nemesis The MASTER. He had his own time machine, but would he be powerful enough to control the others..... ?

Then I came up with the ideal person. A cosmic being who liked to play games..... A being of eminence power who played to win.......  A person from The Marvel Comics Universe...

En Dwi Gast aka The GRANDMASTER. An ageless Elder of the Universe who lives to play games with people and worlds.

Well for Round Two The Grandmaster  had already selected his team of players ( details coming soon ) but who would his next opponent be ?


So I decided that the Next Round  would use the same opponent, but a newer version.

Next Time you will get to see WHO this IS    .......

A clue he lives is a Blue Box Too......

A Very Big Super THANK YOU 44,000 visitors

Originally I just planned to do TV's Super Girl as a one off for my latest THANK YOU a month ago. But I found I enjoyed the project and decided to add a few others from cast into the mix.

I may revisit TV's Super Girl again, but in the mean time its Goodbye and Thanks from the Maid of Steel
