THANKS 37000 Still going Stong after so many years thanks to you guys !

I have doing my strange Dawg Blog since 14th December 2010  and it always amazed me that so many of you come back and enjoy my work.
 What I produce now compared to then is worlds apart. Less Puns and a more uniformed look these days, I still get a lot of enjoyment doing what I do.

Over the last few months finding time to post has been hard, and some of the subjects and their stories have taken a VERY LONG TIME to tell and relate in my "Unique" way.

My Tales of the New Teen Titans began back in August 2015 and although I never plan for the stories to go on and on, by the time you have covered the basic characters and their back grounds that can run into a lot of pictures and new drawing..... and the time just flies by.

Anyway, that's my problem..... so please bare with me.

Whilst I was going my Titans Tales, I missed a few Thank You Posts..... so here is the last one featuring "more" Teen Titans. Sorry I did promise, but its a chance to use some of the pictures I did not get around to posting.

Hopefully I have captured all of the best Bits from the first few years of the Teen Aged Heroes. Most of these characters again I had to tweak and clean up as when I did the originals I made little errors and the lines were not as crisp as I do them now. This a basically a Pre - Crisis (the first DC Crisis I mean ) set of Heroes.  When Bat Girl was Bette Kane and Cyborg was a Titan and not in the "Big" League, When Wonder Woman's Mum was Blond and when Donna Troy just an adopted orphan with no mystical past, when Dick Grayson finally Grew up and got quickly replaced TWICE by two other Robin's, and when Superman still  wore his Knickers over his Tights and Lois Lane hadn't a Scooby Doo he was Clark Kent.  .....and when Heroes that Died STAYED DEAD and didn't get better after a re boot........ The Good Old Days !!!!

All of the Key Characters and some of the now forgotten ones too.

Plus the original Bodies of my "Dawg" Buddy have changed over time.... have a look at my early posts.  I am still proud of them but they do look a bit basic and rough around the edges.

Finding new subjects is difficult. Especially these days where most Super Heroes seem to change their look all them time. Sometime it is good, but I think its more about the artist wanting to "own" the characters and therefore they want to up date them and their look in their unique ways too.

I am more of a classic comic book boy, so I tend to go for the Classic Heroes and the look they are mostly associated with.. If it ain't broke......  as they say!

The New Teen Titans Part Twenty Eight The Final Showdown

Last time I told how Dick Grayson had become Nightwing and he had learnt that Joseph Wilson son of Deathstroke was himself a person with extraordinary abilities.



As the Two "New" Heroes raced off to the secret location where HIVE were holding the Teen Teens, both Dick Grayson aka Nightwing and Joey Wilson aka Jericho had little idea what they would be facing, or what danger Dick's friends were in.

Nightwing was no newbie hero, but Dick was wearing a new costume and was carrying weapons and equipment that he had not truly tested or used in battle. Also he worried if Jericho was skilled enough to undertake the task in hand. There were no guarantees that their rescue attempt would work or would they be too late to save the Titans.

At this time the kidnapped Teen Titans were just about coming around after their capture.  They came face to face with Deathstroke and were made aware of HIVE and their involvement in the whole situation.


THE TEEN TITANS COME FACE TO FACE WITH THEIR ABDUCTORS

Just as the Titans were becoming aware of their situation, many of them were wondering where their teem mate Terra was all apart from Raven who although knew was not in a position to tell her friends.  The wait for   the answer of what had become of the youngest Titan was soon forthcoming as Deathstroke announced that he had had some assistance in capturing the Teen Titans with the help of TERRA herself.

Terra laughed at the Heroes and teased them with what she really thought of them. She even implied that she and Slade were an item and lovers. (the under aged sex was not discussed, but we all knew ) . The Team were then told that their powers were being negated by the machine they all found themselves strapped to, except for Raven who was still partly sedated as her powers being mystical seemed to not be able to be controlled in the same way.

THE TRUE TERRA MAKES HERSELF FINALLY KNOWN

The shock and disbelief was hard for all of them to grasp, more so for Changeling who realised Tara's love for him was fake.

During this event both Nightwing and Jericho had managed to break into the Hive Head Quarters, and had made good progress in getting to where their friends were being held.....but before they managed to free the other Titans, they themselves had also been captured. Terra had spotted them and had used her incredible powers to knock them out.

Terra announced to Slade that she had captured Dick Grayson and brought him bound before the other Titan's. This was the first time they had see Dick dressed as Nightwing.

Following behind was Jericho, who Slade recognised as his son Joseph.  The shock of this  caused Slade to let his guard down, thus allowing  Jericho to make contact with his father and his first action was to take a swipe at Terra. Unaware of why her "Lover" had hit her she retaliated and attacked Deathstroke.

In the confusion the machine holding the Titans was destroyed freeing the team to take on Terra and the Hive.

Terra's temper rises and rises and she starts attacking everyone, Slade tries to convince Terra that he is not in control of his own actions, but as she and the others do not know about Jericho's powers she can only assume that he has also turned on her.

As the battle rages on, each of the Titans tries to calm Terra, but each of them are nearly killed in the process, finally Changeling attacks her in the shape of a Fly in her eye..... The result is that Terra's RAGE finally make her lose control over her powers causing havoc and destruction.

TERRA STARTS TO LOSS CONTROL OF BOTH HER EMOTIONS AND HER POWERS.

As her rage grows she finally realises she has lost control of her abilities and in an attempt to reign in her powers realises she needs to sacrifice her own well being.

 From the look on her face at the final moments it is believed she took her own life to help protect the others around her.  It may be a touch of clarity of the situation or just that Tara did not care about her own life anymore. Maybe the rejection she had received from Deathstroke was finally too much for her damaged mind to take.

When Changeling finally found  her body in the wreckage, he cannot help but be saddened by what may have been .

There are no winners in this battle, just losers.

The Teen Titans decide to cover up the real reason for Terra's death to help her Brother Brion aka Geo-Force deal with his loss. She is buried as a Hero. The Titans believe deep down inside she was a good person, but her unhappy personal life had caused her to resent others and lead her down the dark path she had taken.

Wilson Slade is taken into custody it appears willingly, and Joseph Wilson is invited to join the Teen Titans.

The New Teen Titans Part Twenty Seven .... CONTACT meet Jericho !

Last time I told how Dick Grayson had decided that he needed to adopt a new identity in order to help save his friends from Deathstroke and HIVE.

Donning his new costume, which later we found had been made by Alfred, Dick announced to his new partners, Adeline Kane and her son Joseph Wilson that he was now NIGHTWING.

The story continues.

As the words left Dick's mouth it remained open in surprise. Standing in front of him was Joseph Wilson dress also dressed in a colourful costume.

Adeline Kane announced that not only was her son  Joseph  the son of herself and Deathstoke the Terminator, he had special powers too. And he had taken on the name JERICHO

Before Dick aka Nightwing could question them both further on the instruction of his mother, Jericho showed Nightwing what meta human powers he processed...... AND how he could use it !

Dick had noticed that Joseph had unusual looking eyes, and looking directly into them he would learn that these were the source of mute youngsters uncanny powers. As Dick and Joseph looked at one another, their eyes made a connection and..........................

CONTACT, all of a sudden Nightwing became aware that he was no longer in control of his own actions. Jericho had some how merged with him and was now in complete control of the young crime fighters actions. On the command of his mother, Jericho now in control of Dick Grayson's body began punch and  himself. or should I say Nightwing began to hit himself.

THE ACT OF POSSESSION  ......TWO BECOME ONE

After a brief and painful demonstration of his powers, Jericho left Nightwing's body and returned to the side of his mother.

Joseph unable to speak signed to Nightwing he was sorry for how he had shown Dick  how his powers worked. Adeline translated and Nightwing having some knowledge of signing signed back that he forgave Jericho and accepted his apology .

Jericho is apologetic to Nightwing for hurting him.

Dick was informed that Jericho could possess any persons body after making eye contact with them, once doing this Jericho's own  body would turn  insubstantial and he would enter the subject he had targeted. While he is in possession, Jericho has access to all of that host's powers  being that physical, mental, and magical. Once connected Joseph could  also able to tap into his victims  memories. Jericho's victims would still stay conscious and they may continue  express themselves vocally, but they are not be able to control the actions of their bodies,  as this was now directed by Jericho. If the person became unconscious, Jericho could then use their voice to speak, albeit with their accent or any other speech impairments the host had, and only using the words they know and language that they knew. The origin  of  Joseph's  powers was believed to be as a result of Joseph being born after his father had had being experimented on by the US government where Slade Wilson got his own meta human powers. Unlike his brother Grant, who had been conceived prior to this time and therefore did not inherit any meta human genes from his father.

The only problem or problem that Joseph  had was that he needed to make eye contact to make his powers work. If his target wore lenses or had artificial eyes he was unable to make contact.

Unlike both his parents, Joseph Wilson, or Joey to his friends was not a born killer or fighter. He was in reality a peaceful person who hated violence, but despite his pacifistic nature under the tutoring of his mother Joey was a skillful fighter in most forms of hand to hand combat.

Dick knew it was a risk going into battle with anyone who he did not fully trust or understood their abilities, but he had no one else to turn to, so with a little hesitancy he accepted Jericho's assistance in the rescue of the other Titans.

The New Teen Titans part Twenty Six ... Richard Grayson, A New Hero is Born of Kryptionian Heritage

Last time we left Dick Grayson coming to terms that not only had the woman he loved along with his closest friends had been kidnapped by the mercenary and assassin  Deathstroke The Terminator. Dick's had had his own life turned upside down by a the ex wife of the said kidnapper breaking into Titans Tower announcing  that she knew his greatest secret. The secret that He was or had been the Hero Robin was known to very few outside the Super Hero Community . The fact that Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke was working for the secret organisation HIVE was also a shock as was the fact that Wilson was only doing this to settle a contract that had originally been undertaken by the now deceased Ravager , Adeline's other son Grant.

Adeline had informed Dick that she had little love for her former husband after his passed cavalier attitude to her or their sons. And was responsible for blinding him many years ago.

Adeline Kane had offered to help him track down and save his friends, and although Dick had tried his best to say that she was mistaken  that he was or had been the Boy Wonder, he knew that he needed her help and would have to put trust in her and with that her silent son Joseph Wilson.

As Dick was no longer Robin, as that mantle had now been passed onto another, he knew he could not risk taking on Deathstroke or his employers as himself. Dick Grayson needed as disguise.

Retiring to his quarters in the Titans Tower, thoughts of what had happened ran through his mind. Was Kory, Donna, Raven, Gar and Victor still alive ? Was Wally safe ?  Did Terra play a part in this ? or was she innocent of deception and betrayal ? Could be depend on asking Batman for assistance ?  Was he now to pre occupied in training Jason Todd, Dick's replacement ? Had Slade Wilson told anyone else of his secret identity ? If so what would happen to Bruce ? Was this the end of the Titans ?

Trying to make sense of what was happening to him.

As these thoughts flooded through his head, he reached under his bed and pulled out a locked trunk. inside was something that may help at least help equip him for the task ahead of him.

Opening the case he gazed inside.

A box full of memories of the past, and memories in the making.

There were many things and memories of his past life. A torn and faded Photograph of his late Parents and him on the day of their Murder, Some of his own Bat-arangs, and weapons he had used in his former life, There was a Press clipping on his debut as The Boy Wonder. There was a letter from Alfred, the closes thing Dick had a a Grandfather. There was a picture of his friend Kal-el and his best Pal Jimmy Olsen during one of their adventures in the Bottled City of Kandor. And two symbols a gift from the same Kal-el, who had inspired him to look to his own future. To become his own Hero.

Along with all these memories of the past, was a strange garment, a colourful costume. Maybe NOT as bright and colourful as his Robin uniform, but A New and unworn Costume more in keeping with the way Dick wished his future to move, A costume that was to be a very big part in Dick's future.   Dick Grayson was no longer Robin the Junior partner of the Dark Knight Batman. He needed a new identity, he needed to make a name for him self, and that name would be inspired from a Kryptonian legend, told to him by Superman himself, that itself had been inspired from his mentor Batman and his own as Robin escapades. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something BLUE. . This was something that he had not even shared with his beloved Kory.




Where his Robin identity had been inspired by the Legend of Robin Hood, and his look a nod to his Circus Acrobatic Uniform, the idea and concept of the Boy Wonder had been Batman's.

Nightwing borrowed on the Look of the Batman, without the fussy Cape and Cowl. The Name was a nod to the Kryptionian Kandor Hero Nightwing, a Nome Du plume adopted by Superman on visits to the Bottled City.  ( For the history behind Nightwing & Flamebird see my previous posts about Kandor, Superman and Braniac.)

No more Red, Green and and a Gold Coloured Cape. No more pixie boots and bare legs. It was now Mix of Dark and Light Blue and a flash of yellow. Dick Grayson was no longer a boy wonder, he was now a man on a mission.

Putting on the costume, Dick returned to the control room at the Tower and announced himself as NIGHTWING.

A NEW HERO IS BORN



However, This shock announcement was soon forgotten as yet another new Hero entered the fold.

THE NEW TEEN TITANS part Twenty Five Deathstroke's Past is revealed

Last time we learnt that Deathstroke along with Terra has managed to successfully capture all of the active Teen Titan's

Only by the skin of his teeth did the former Boy Wonder dick Grayson manage to avoid capture himself.

With Slade Wilson still looking for him, Dick  arrived at Titans Tower to find it in a mess. Putting together the clues he found, the Young detective worked out a battle had taken place at the Tower involving Terra and Raven. This added to the fact that all of the other Titans seemed also to have been abducted whilst at their own homes, lead Dick to realise that they too must have fallen foul of Deathstroke.

Dick knew who had attacked the Titans, but did not know why ? or that Terra had betrayed them.

As Dick started to make plans to locate the other Titans and rescue them a strange figure appeared from the shadows. It was a Woman, but who was she and what was she doing at Titans Tower.

As the figure stepped into the light Dick Grayson realised that he did not know who this person was, and further more who was the other person standing beside her.

The woman quickly introduced her self as Adeline Kane , and as the man behind her also stepped from the shadow introduced the other stranger as her son Joseph.

Unlike his Mother Joseph remained silent. Dick found this young man a mystery. On the outside he appeared calm and placid,  but his eyes appeared to tell a different story.

Adeline commenced to inform Dick Grayson that she knew who he was and why Deathstoke had attacked them, and his need to fulfil his late son Ravager contract with HIVE.  Dick told Adeline he knew who Ravager was and that Deathstroke was Wilson Slade...... but he was shocked to then learn that Adeline was in fact Slade's Wife and Mother of Ravager aka Grant Wilson....... and Joseph was also their son.

The news that Dick Grayson's secret identity was known by Deathstroke and his "Wife" was a worry to him. Not just the impact that would have on him, but the impact that would arise if the world got to find out this secret and his mentor Bruce Wayne's Dark Knight alter ego .

Dick tried to bluff his way around the subject of him being Robin, but he knew that Adeline was far too cleaver to believe any cover story he tried to invent.

Dick asked Adeline why should he trust her and her son, especially as they were related to Deathstroke, Adeline grabbed  ahold of the collar of Joseph's shirt and pulled it down.

This revealed a scar that went across Joseph's throat.  Adeline explained that Joseph had been hurt many years ago when Joseph was just a Young child,  by someone trying to get back at her husband, who by then had become the paid mercenary and assassin Deathstroke. Slade had refused to divulge information to the person who was threatening his son's life out of his own  mis judged loyalty to his assassins code. Adeline realised that Slade put his own needs and that of his Deathstroke The Terminator career above that of her children or herself.

The wound  did not kill Joseph, but resulted in him becoming mute as his vocal cords had been severed.  Out of rage for her husband allowing this to happen and casing both her and her family to be put in unnecessary danger, Adeline attempted to shot her husband Slade Wilson. If his enraged wife really meant to kill Slade is unknown, but the results of her actions would live with him for the rest of his life

THE TIME FOR TALKING WAS OVER. WHAT WAS NEEDED NOW WAS ACTION !

Years ago Slade Wilson, a man with no regard to anyone but himself. A Code of morality that did not include putting his family first or safe.




 

Taking Matters in her own Hands. Revenging her son.

The Bullet Hits its Mark.

DEATHSTROKE a stone cold Killer or a man with a mission.?

Only his enhanced reflexes avoided him being killed. However the bullet did manage to strike home, hitting Slade in the eye blinding him in his right eye. A wound that even his enhanced body could never repair or restore. His life forever changed. He had lost his Wife, his Children and his Eye. But he did not care, he had his career. He was Deathstroke the Terminator, what Else did he need.?

THE REVENGE OF A LOVING MOTHER AND A WRONGED WIFE



Adeline continued her story. with her marriage to Slade was over she tried her up most to make sure he had no further contact with her or her Children. However, her older son Grant would following in his father's foot steps and would join military school. He would later be co-opted by HIVE to dispose of the Teen Titans.  (details of this I have already covered) Adeline knew that although Grant's death was not Slade's fault, she realised that HIVE had used Grant to get Slade to do their bidding as if Slade had agreed initially to the contract, her older son would not have been considered or experimented on. Unlike his younger Brother Joseph, Grant Wilson was born before Slade had agreed to undertake the Military experiments that would later grant him his enhanced abilities.

Still sceptical of how he was going to help free his team mates with the help of Adeline Kane, Dick decide to leave the company of this strange and embittered  woman and her silent Son, and retired to his room in Titan's Tower. He pondered  over the information he had received and what had happened in the hours before. He knew what he needed to do, reaching under his bed he pulled out a locked trunk.

Inside was hopefully a way to help save his friends.

THE NEW TEEN TITANS PART TWENTY FOUR.... THE HUNT FOR DICK GRAYSON.

Last time I told how Deathstroke had captured a number of the Teen Titans. However Robin aka Richard Grayson had managed to escape capture.

Reviewing the facts Deathstroke recalled all that had happened in the last 24 Hours.

Locating the missing Titan was proving to be an issued

As he reviewed all of the information on hand, Deathstroke was now worried that the Powerless Boy Wonder could cause all of his plans to start to fail.

Slade decided that it was better to deliver the Active Titans to HIVE so he could finally complete the Contract his late Son had undertaken.  Then his Family Debt would be cleared. After all the contract was to deliver the Teen Titans to the HIVE. With Kid Flash and Robin no longer technically members of that team, HIVE would not be able to argue details Slade thought. HIVE did not consider past members a threat, they were only worried about the active Team causing any problems to their future plans of world conquest.

Once he had done this Slade would deal with Dick Grayson at his leisure.

Whilst Slade made plans to take his captured Titans to HIVE little did he know that the his missing target was now at Titans Tower making plans of his own.

Next Time its Dick Grayson's turn to Hunt Deathstroke.
