PRESENTING THE BOY WONDER

Richard (Dick) Grayson was the Son of a famous group of Circus Acrobats called "THE FLYING GRAYSONS" .  When they, his parents were murdered by the Mafia in a ploy to extort monies from the owner of the Circus, Dick was offered a home with Millionaire Bruce Wayne.

Later Dick discovers that Bruce is the mysterious BAT MAN and  convinces Bruce to let him train to be a crime fighter too.  Bruce agrees and some time later Bat-Man is joined by his new partner Robin, the Boy Wonder. 

Robin first appeared in Detective Comics 38# from April 1940, and the character is still around today,  even if today the person behind the mask is no longer Dick Grayson......  Bat Man still has his ROBIN.




Here is a look at Dick Grayson as the Original Robin the Boy Wonder, or is it ROVER.... The Wonder Dog ?

 

In 1964 Robin teamed up with two other youngsters.... Aqua Lad and Kid Flash for one adventure. when they became  an unofficial JUNIOR Justice League of America....... By the time the 3 joined forces again they decided to call themselves.... THE TEEN TITANS and so history was made.

Robin soon showed that he was more than just the teen aged side kick of his mentor Bat-man and showed this as the leader of his own group of super heroes........ using the skills and knowledge he had gained over the years from his "adopted" father   Bruce Wayne.... THE BAT-MAN

HERE COME THE ORIGINAL TEEN TITANS

When I was growing up in London in the 1960's I first remember reading AMERICAN Comics.  Unlike the UK comics, which had very good stories, the America ones stories were in COLOUR... or COLOR as the Yanks spell it. And therefore seemed more exciting !

Anyway, I first came across the Teen Titans in the late 1960's.  Unlike the other heroes at that time, BatMan Superman & Wonder Woman, these were all youngsters.  Teenagers ! and this appealed to me..... and so I became a life Long Fan.

Over the years the Teen Titans and its members grew up, but until the latest 52 REBOOT, the characters always seemed to stay in contact and together. Ok the roster changed, but some how  the group they all stayed friends.

Robin, Kid Flash, Aqua Lad, Speedy and Wonder Girl may have changed into Nightwing, Flash, Tempest, Red Arrow and Wonder Woman (or what ever name Donna Troy was going with at the time ! )  they never ever lost contact with one another, and although most even became a replacement to their Adult mentors, they still remained Dick, Wally, Garth. Roy & Donna

When I started Blogging, I decided that all my DC Characters would be drawn in my Dog Dawg style ( check out my early posts.........  Especially the Bat Fang Family )  The Marvel Characters I did in the Buddy Style...... both styles worked, but I preferred the Buddy Look, as this was more enjoyable to me.

BUT Breaking with tradition, I have decided to Buddy Dawg Style The Teen Titans.

LONG TIME NO POSTS

With my involvement with working as a Games Maker (volunteer) at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, I have had little time to post any new drawings.

Hopefully in the next few days I will being to start posting again.

But as a celebration of the recent  Paralympic Games here is a Post aimed at the wonderful guys and girls of PARALYMPIC TEAM GB...... and a Thanks to all the Atheletes who took part from all countries.

Congratulations on showing the World that Disability is just a Word, NOT a Condition.
